Blenheim Nursery was founded in the spring of 1997 by Steven Felix, closely supported by his Mother Corriene. It was no surprise to anyone that his childhood hobby would eventually become his livelihood. He quickly followed in both his mother and grandmothers footsteps with his green fingers, undeniable drive and great work ethic.
Steve was a winner in the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards! This afforded Steve and Blenheim Nursery a huge amount of valuable publicity, both locally and nationally. In 2001 Steve also received backing from the Prince’s Trust.
By 2007 the greenhouse area had tripled to over 13 sq ft with 20,000 sq ft of outside standing out beds. The retail area expanded and Garden Buildings were introduced. But Steve did not want Blenheim to become a garden centre, he was determined that it would always be a nursery with the emphasis on growing quality plants.
Having already been growing for Alcester in Bloom, in 2015 Blenheim had a new challenge, the contract to supply and maintain all the plants for Stratford in Bloom, including 250 massive hanging baskets!
The long awaited Blenheim Cafe was opened. With nursery footfall increasing and the surrounding towns and villages expanding it was the obvious move.
Exciting developments continue at the nursery with a new, modern propagation house for the nursery to keep up with the demand for locally grown plants. This also gave way for the shop/retail greenhouse to be expanded, enhancing the retail experience.
